Andrew Peters Wires Outlaw Micro Sprint Feature on Night One of Illinois SPEED Week

Belleville, IL– Andrew Peters of Converse, Indiana wired the field to capture his first POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series feature victory of 2016 on the opening night of Illinois SPEED Week at Belle-Clair Speedway. Starting on the pole of the 20 lap main, Peters barely edged Nathan Benson for the lead on the opening lap. Dodging several slide job attempts in the early goings, Peters worked to maintain a solid rhythm only for the red to fly on lap three for Matt Howard and Steven Shebester on the front stretch. Returning to green, Peters worked to put distance between himself and the rest of the field as he built momentum on the high side of the high banked Belle-Clair Speedway. Tyler Vantoll Claims DII Midget win on the Opening Night of Illinois SPEED Week

Belleville, IL – Tyler Vantoll of Belleville, Illinois swept the opening night of Illinois SPEED Week in the POWRi Lucas Oil ILLINI Division II Midget Series at Belle-Clair Speedway, snagging the heat race win and dominating every lap of the feature. Vantoll’s victory at Belle-Clair has been a long time coming as the driver has had several opportunities to capture his first win snatched away by bad luck. However, Vantoll was able to keep the gremlins away long enough to get to stand in victory lane, an excellent start for Illinois SPEED Week. “Getting the first one is always a relief,” said Vantoll. “I’m hoping during the SPEED Week, we can get a couple more, but I’m definitely going for top five finishes and I want to be able to get the championship at the end. Illinois SPEED Week kicks off at Belle-Clair Speedway this Wednesday, June 8th

Belleville, IL – The 4th Annual Illinois SPEED Week is shaping up to be one of the largest events for 2016 with a world-wide driver presence set to tackle five straight days of racing. All five nights will feature POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series action, paired with both the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series and the POWRi/ILLINI Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series. The grueling weeks kicks off on Wednesday, June 8th at the high-banked Belle-Clair Speedway. Thursday, teams will head north to Quincy Raceways, before Friday’s show at Jacksonville Speedway. Saturday, the divisions will invade Macon Speedway and for the fifth and final night, Illinois SPEED Week will conclude at Lincoln Speedway. The five nights of racing will be the ultimate test of endurance for drivers and crews, equipment maintenance, and an excellent display of driver talents.
